I’m sure you’re familiar with the cliché; “what I ordered for versus what I got” that is usually used in instances when a low budget kind of the item ordered for, is delivered.
That is an instance when the beauty of an item gripped your attention that you couldn’t resist but ordered for it, only to get something lesser in quality, durability and/or style after anticipating and being drenched in thoughts of having it.
I can actually relate to how that feels.
It’s Sad
Disappointing
Regretful
And annoying.
E dey pain sha. But that’s for that.
What then do you call the scenario where after making so much plans, giving your best to make something happen, the outcome didn’t match in anyway with the imaginary pictures that have sat on your head all along?
I mean how do you describe that feeling of adrenalin flow you get when after you have strategically planned out how to go about a course, or calculated an outcome in relations to the efforts and resources you put in, only for everything and every plan to go haywire?
Like when you plan, work strictly to make it see the light of the day, but the result ends up disappointing you.
For me, I simply refer to instances as such as “What I planned versus what occurred”.
But with all the negative feelings that circumstances that it may bring, I still see positive light in it. Because there are boundless possibilities when life is not hell-bent on what you want it to be or what you worked it out to be.
That’s the beauty of life. The irony of it.
So how best do you appreciate this beauty in every sense?
How do we react to it when the worse happens after hoping for, and working towards the best?Because the vibes you likely get from within is like that of a failure.
But even if it’s a case where you failed, still know that failure isn’t the end. Because failing is inevitable.
Yes, you read that right. Mind you, I am not one of those motivational speakers that stresses failure to be the number one perquisite to success. But my words is gracing your screen to preach to you that failure is relative and at one point or the other, every man, every woman, everyone on the face of the earth has failed. Take it, believe it or accept it.
The sole reason why you may doubt this preceding statement is that you see failure in just one or few perspectives, forgetting that failure is actually relative.
For me, I’ve experienced failing in these ways;
In school, I have written assignments and failed
I have failed in completing my course work
In relationships, I’ve failed to keep up dates and commitments
I’ve failed in being that girlfriend a partner wanted. But no apology to this! Lol
In my daily activities,
I’ve failed to be prompt
I’ve failed to keep deadlines
I’ve started projects that I left some pending
I’ve countlessly looked back at my to-do list and felt like a failure.
Just to let you know that I have failed several times and in so many instances.
But I am a failure?
A big fat ‘NOOOO’
Then what’s the take home?
“Life wouldn’t always go the way you want it to go, and things wouldn’t always turn out the way you plan them to be because you do not own the universe because there are lots of things you can’t control”.
But still;
Plan
Plan regardless
Dream
Keep your dream alive
Don’t be visionless
Have a plot you would want to follow
Work in that path strategically.
And when life happens?
Stand up
Get up
Move on
And Fight back
Remember, you’ve got the world to conquer, so dream and plan to the least of things,
But in all,
Always give room for flexibilities.
